Reduction of Export Duties on Certain Products of the Mining Sector

Through Decree No. 563/2025 (published in the Official Gazette on August 7, 2025), the National Executive Branch reduced to 0% the export duties applicable to certain products of the mining sector, with the aim of enhancing the competitiveness of Argentine mining and promoting economic growth, job creation, and foreign currency inflow.

The reduction to a 0% export duty rate applies to 231 mining products, including minerals used as inputs for construction (lime, cement, marble, dolomite, pebbles, paving stones, pumice, granite, and limestone), non-metallic elements (borates, bentonite, quartz, potassium, talc, clay, and natural abrasives), metallic minerals (iron, copper, lead, zinc, ferroalloys, and residues), precious stones, and coal.

It is important to note that silver and lithium remain subject to an export duty rate of 4.5%.

The amendments introduced by Decree No. 563/2025 will enter into force on August 8, 2025.
